Toy Soldier & Model Figure  |  Issue 208
This September 2015 edition features a very special section with a “History & Toy Soldiers in Texas” theme.
Matthew W. Adams from the Lone Star State details how he uses toy soldiers and dioramas to teach history in his junior high school classroom.
Editor Stuart Hessney delivers a full report from San Antonio on the 9th Annual Texas Toy Soldier Show staged during 2015’s Memorial Day weekend. Dire weather threats failed to dampen attendees’ enthusiasm for going treasure hunting and enjoying camaraderie among like-minded folks. More hobby event news comes from Clyde Cocke, who covered May’s Virginia War Museum Toy Soldier Show in Newport News.
Elsewhere, Editor Stuart Hessney shares the story of his visit the fascinating Royal Canadian Military Institute and attend the Ontario Model Soldier Society’s On Parade show and competition in Toronto. Stuart also reports on how filmmaker Sir Peter Jackson has unveiled “The Great War Exhibition,” bringing history to life with colorful storytelling.
As usual, there’s lots more in store in this edition, so please start turning the pages, enjoy and, as always, happy collecting!
