UZBEK CARRIER Air Samarkand has launched several new routes and increased frequencies on some of its existing services. The new links include Tashkent to Tbilisi and Batumi in Georgia, as well as from Tashkent and Samarkand to Baku in Azerbaijan. The Georgian routes, which commenced in May, will be operated twice a week and three times a week, respectively. Meanwhile, the Tashkent-Baku route will be flown weekly and twice weekly from Samarkand. The airline also increased the number of rotations on its Samarkand to Istanbul service from three to five flights per week, starting from May 26. The airline had also planned to add an additional weekly service to its once-weekly Samarkand to Tel Aviv route, beginning on July 3. However, it remains to be seen if this will be implemented due to the ongoing tensions in Israel.
