Mango renaissance?
MANGO AIRLINES, the South African low-cost carrier based at Johannesburg/OR Tambo has said it is in the final stages of negotiating with an investor to restart operations. Launched in 2006, it operated various domestic routes and a solitary international connection to Zanzibar, using a fleet primarily comprising Boeing 737-800s. A subsidiary of South African Airways, it was placed into business rescue in August 2021 and the parent carrier said it “remains focused on its own strategic objectives and operational commitments, separate from Mango.”
