A350 arrives at Frankfurt
GERMAN FLAG carrier Lufthansa has transferred four Airbus A350-900s to its Frankfurt hub as it looks to address capacity issues following delays in the delivery of new aircraft. The airline said the aircraft have been in service on routes to Seoul and Shanghai since March 30. Two more of the widebody jets will be added in May and July and placed on its Denver and Seattle routes. The airline’s CEO, Jens Ritter, added that over the next 36 months, the airline was expecting “the largest fleet renewal in its history”. On average, a new aircraft is scheduled to be delivered every two weeks and, by the end of 2027, the airline expects to have received 61 new aircraft.
