Cabin commitments for Thai Airways
THAI AIRWAYS International has formally signed a letter of intent (LOI) with Airbus regarding the cabin retrofit of its Airbus A350-900 fleet. The upgrade project will commence in 2028, and the work will be carried out in phases to ensure “minimal impact” on the airline’s operation. The Bangkok-based carrier currently has 23 A350s on its roster, configured in a two-class layout with 32 seats in its Royal Silk business class and 289 seats in economy. The overhaul will see both these cabins overhauled, with the former being “modernised and elevated”. Thai Airways will also introduce a new premium economy cabin. Other work includes an improved in-flight entertainment system.
