Delta could defer Airbus deliveries
THE CEO of Delta Air Lines, Ed Bastian, has said the airline could defer deliveries of Airbus aircraft if they are struck by tariffs. Bastian spoke on April 9 during the airline’s earnings call, during which he said the airline was working with the manufacturer to minimise the effects of US President Donald Trump’s decision to impose steep trading tariffs on countries around the world. Since the call, Trump has reversed his decision. If the tariffs were implemented, the cost of aircraft could increase by 10-20%, a figure Bastian said would be “very difficult” to work with.
