TAAG’s dream begins
LUANDA-BASED TAAG Angola Airlines pressed its first Boeing 787-9Dreamliner into service on April 5. The widebody, D2-TEQ (c/n 66877), was delivered to the flag carrier on January 29 and is the first of four airframes due. The inaugural commercial flight connected the Angolan capital with Johannesburg in South Africa. Flight DT577 lasted just over three hours and saw the jet cruise at 41,000ft. On the return sector, DT5781, the widebody reached an altitude of 43,000ft, which is 100ft short of the service ceiling for the 787-9.
