Emirates pulls plug on power banks

EMIRATES HAS become the latest carrier to ban the use of power banks on board its flights. From October 1, the airline has said that customers will be prohibited from using such devices onboard for either powering or charging devices. Passengers will still be allowed to carry one power bank onboard, restricted to less than 100Wh, but these must be stored in the seat pocket or placed in hand luggage under the seat and not in the overhead locker. Such devices are already banned from checked-in baggage.
