FlyGabon fleet expansion

RECENTLY LAUNCHED Gabonese carrier FlyGabon has introduced a brand-new ATR 42-600, as well as its first jet, an Airbus A320. The latest additions bring the total aircraft in the airline’s fleet to seven, joining five ATR 72-600s.
The 126-seat A320-232, ZS-GAB (c/n 2167), started life with Martinair in April 2004. It was handed over to FlyGabon in a special ceremony held at Libreville/Léon Mba International Airport on July 25. Speaking at the ceremony, the president of Gabon, Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema, said: “Today, we are resolutely setting out to conquer the sky. By welcoming an Airbus A320, which strengthens the fleet of our national airline FlyGabon, we reaffirm our regained sovereignty in the aviation sector, and more broadly in transportation.”
