Vueling says adiós to Airbus
VUELING IS set to transition from an entirely Airbus fleet to an all-Boeing roster after its owner, International Airlines Group (IAG), announced it had allocated its entire firm order for 50 737 MAX twinjets placed in 2022, to the Spanish low-cost carrier. IAG CEO Luis Gallego confirmed the news during a second-quarter earnings call on August 1. Gallego said the intention to replace the whole of Vueling’s fleet with a Boeing product would depend on the carrier’s performance. He added that the transition would take around six years.
