Alaska’s IT outage

ALASKA AIRLINES and its regional arm Horizon Air were forced to suspend all flights for around three hours on July 20, after experiencing what it described as a “significant IT outage”. The airline stated that approximately 200 flights were cancelled, affecting around 13,500 passengers.

In a statement on X, Alaska said: “As of 11pm Pacific, the ground stop has been lifted, and our operations have resumed. As we reposition our aircraft and crews, there will most likely be residual impacts to our flights. It will take some time to get our overall operations back to normal.”
