EasyJet targets slots, not takeovers

LOW-COST GIANT easyJet is unlikely to pursue airline acquisitions and instead hopes to benefit from industry consolidation by inheriting valuable airport slots and market access as a ‘remedy partner’, the airline’s CEO has said.
Kenton Jarvis told Airliner World in an exclusive interview that rather than merging with or acquiring competitors, the Luton-based carrier is focused on strengthening its position through selective growth, particularly at key European airports where regulatory remedies open the door.
