Virgin to deck out its Dreamliners
VIRGIN ATLANTIC will completely overhaul the cabins on its Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner fleet, as part of a series of customer experience initiatives announced by the airline.
The move – revealed by the carrier at a showcase event in London – will see the number of premium seats increase with the cabin being inspired by its A330neo layout. Starting in 2028 and completing by 2030, the 787s will feature 44 Upper Class seats (a rise from 31), 56 Premium Economy seats (up from 35), and 127 Economy (down from the current 192). Notably, the bar area – which became a mainstay on its fleet, but has been discontinued on its latest roster additions – will be removed from the 787s in favour of more Upper Class seats.
