Among a wealth of silver smalls, watches and fairly affordable jewellery giving the Cotswold sale its appeal as a source of late-bought Christmas presents was the third of four tranches of Georgian and silver penknives to be offered in the Cheltenham rooms.
This offering comprised more than 100 folding fruit knives and forks offered in 22 lots, all of which sold to a mixture of trade and private buyers around estimates which ranged from a low £45 to a high £110.
