Described as one of the quiet glories of southern France, the ancient town of Pézenas is set in the Languedoc Roussillon region, all rocky outcrops, pines and vines.
It offers fine medieval houses much favoured in French film backdrops, set alongside mellow, honey-coloured 17th and 18th century buildings.
