What a night as the Inveraray pipe band march goes on

ALL WAS well that ended well as Inveraray welcomed back her conquering heroes in fitting style.

Red tape had threatened to scupper plans for a triumphant march up the Royal Burgh’s Main Street, but a last-minute outbreak of common sense saw to it that the people got to greet their heroes properly.

Inveraray and District Pipe Band won their first-ever grade one world championship a fortnight earlier and this was the town’s chance to welcome them home with the world trophy - along with the British, European and Scottish silverware already won this season.
