WITH funding certain to be even tighter over the next year and millions more to save, Argyll and Bute Council is asking the people how we want to see scarce cash spent.
Ahead of setting its budget for 2017/18 in February, the local authority has begun a public consultation – despite the fact that nobody yet knows how much will be available to spend. Argyll and Bute Council leader Dick Walsh said: ‘Eighty per cent of our funding is provided by the Scottish Government.
‘We do not yet know what our funding allocation will be for 2017/2018. This will not be announced by the Scottish Government until later in December.
