Leading jazz groups spark up firework weekend

PLAYING to a packed Lochgilphead Drill Hall, two of Scotland’s leading jazz groups entertained locals and visitors after the bonfire and fireworks.

The Dick Lee Septet and the Stu Brown Sextet provided four hours of music that was hard to beat.

A children’s animation workshop to create a short film of cartoon characters resulted in a film that was shown at the evening concert, when Stu Brown’s group played music from cartoons stretching over the past 60 years.
