Artmap Argyll celebrates

ARTMAP Argyll is preparing to celebrate its ninth birthday at the end of the month.

Starting from August 26, the four-day event is an amazing opportunity for locals and visitors to stopover in local artists’ studios for a look around without feeling any pressure to buy. Organisers say it is not only a great opportunity for visitors but the artists themselves benefit greatly by showcasing their work.

Jane Smith, a wildlife artist from Tayvallich, said: ‘I have learned so much from my visitors over the seven years that I’ve been doing Artmap’s Open Studio trail. It’s good to find out what people think and to get their reactions to new work in this very relaxed environment. It’s always a fun weekend.’
