ONE SUBJECT dominated the Argyllshire Advertiser hustings in Tarbert - housing.
Many of the public questions at Tarbert Village Hall centred on the availability of suitable homes in north Kintyre and the islands - particularly in Tarbert, Skipness and on the isle of Islay. Questioners made the point that housing had much wider social implications and would impact the viability of schools local shops and community services; the skills’ pool for business.
Well handled by chairman for the evening, Rev Dr Roderick Campbell of Inveraray, the hustings saw candidates being given a limited time in turn on each question.
