ALL CLASSES of cattle and sheep were presented as United Auctions held its annual June sale at Dalmally Auction Mart.
A total of 226 cattle and 856 sheep was sold on Saturday June 3. All classes met a firm trade, with a large turnout of buyers present from throughout the country. In the store cattle section, bullocks sold to an average of 266 pence per kilo, selling to a top of 324 pence per kilo for Limousin crosses from Garraron and £1,080 per head for Hereford crosses from Clachan, Tiree.
Heifers averaged 248 pence per kilo, selling to 295 pence per kilo for Limousin crosses from Garraron and £1,100 per head for Salers crosses from East Hynish, Tiree, and £1,100 six times for Hereford crosses from Clachan, Tiree.
