To commemorate 100 years since the end of the First World War, North Ayrshire Council is inviting applicants who are planning on hosting a public event – or activities relating to the war – to apply for funding to assist with the project.
Basic criteria
Financial assistance can be made available to organisers who can fulfil certain basic criteria as long as they are community-based groups with a formal legalgovernance such as a constitution, memorandum of association or similar. They must also be a not-for-profit organisation. In particular, they are especially keen to encourage any community-based events or activities which share or investigate the impact of the war on the local area – initiatives which encourage people to consider what life was like 100 years ago or what impact the war had on the local area withregards to community spirit, families, industry, agriculture and diet, sport and leisure, travel and women’s role in society.
