The full extent of the damage which has been caused to a retaining wall supporting the main A841 road on Brodick hill emerged this week.
As North Ayrshire Council pledged in last week’s Banner, roads officials met with local representatives on site this week to discuss how they are going to fix the road, which is a major engineering challenge.
Drivers using the main Brodick to Lamlash road have already faced weeks of the delay caused by the temporary traffic lights which were brought in after subsidence under the road caused the pavement to collapse and weaken the road, and these will remain for some time.
