Plans to build the first council houses on Arran in a generation will be unveiled to the public next week. North Ayrshire Council is building around 26 new homes to the rear of Brathwic Terrace, Brodick, as it seeks to help address the social housing shortage on the island, first revealed by the Banner a year ago.
The development forms part of the council’s vision to deliver more than 1,000 new properties across North Ayrshire by 2023 – one of the most ambitious social house building programmes in the UK.
Now the development plans are to be unveiled and residents are invited to attend a special consultation event being hosted by the council’s housing services at the Ormidale Pavilion in Brodick, on Wednesday September 19, between 4.30pm and 6.30pm.
