Arran has seen a huge increase in holiday lettings this year as Scotland’s islands enjoy a booming tourism revival.
According to Cottages and Castles, which offers premium self-catering holiday lets across Scotland, the company has experienced a surge in interest and bookings from foreign holidaymakers and ‘staycationers’ for island properties throughout the summer months.
The biggest rise in booking figures was for Arran, which rose by 46 per cent in the first five months of 2016, compared to the same period in the previous year. The island beat Skye into second place with a 44 per cent rise. Overall, the company has recorded a 25 per cent increase in bookings for properties on the Scottish islands during the first five months of this year compared to the same period for 2015.
