Sir,
Having spent a simply great week on Arran with superb weather and the warmth of hospitality at all local visitor attractions and shops, my only minor disappointment was the visit to the picnic area at the North Burn at Sannox – one of my favourite spots.
While initially pleased at the upgrading work on the access road leading to the bridge, on arrival I discovered that the picnic area had been commandeered by travellers with caravans, a Transit van and various dogs tied up but marking the boundary of their territory. Are there not official sites on the island to accommodate the travelling community?
