The ninth Arran Folk Festival begins in nine days and the organisers have an exciting line-up of artists to entertain all round Arran for seven days.

However, there is also growing anger with the feeling that the Ayrshire and Arran Tourist Board is being rather less than helpful over the sale of tickets. Concert tickets cost from £5 to £12 but when the festival committee approached the tourist board, which sells tickets, they were told that there would be a charge of £1.50 for every ticket sold.
