Lady Jean receives lifeboat award

Lady Jean Fforde was recently presented with an RNLI award, a bar to her gold badge, by Sir Andrew Cubie, deputy chairman of the RLNI in the Brodick Bar.

She received the award as the longest-serving president of the RNLI in the UK, having served for nearly 60 years. In fact her involvement unofficially started much earlier when, as a child of six, she manned the new lifeboat at Dunbar.
