Ferry passengers were left increasingly frustrated last week at the repeated failure of the new passenger access system which forced them to alight and disembark from the car deck. The enclosed walkway, which cost £2 million, was built by the Spanish firm Adelte and was the cause of significant delays ahead of the new Brodick ferry terminal opening. Now, just three months after the £30 million terminal opened, there has, over the past few weeks, been a number of failures of the system. The result was that for three days foot passengers had to access the ferry via the car deck.
