Sir,

Arran residents and visitors would surely have been interested in a full-page advertising feature which appeared in The Herald on December 14.

In it, North Ayrshire Council extolled the efforts of Team North Ayrshire to promote inward investment and attract new business. One jarring note, however, was struck by Karen Yeomans, executive director, economy and communities. NAC may have its difficulties regarding job creation, but it is certainly in the premier league when it comes to the creation of pretentious job titles.
