AFTER doubting if she might ever return to competitive athletics following the serious knee injury that dashed her 2013 world medal hopes, Perri Shakes-Drayton says her race return last weekend has given her confidence as she aims for her second Olympics, writes Jessica Whittington.
The London 2012 400m hurdler competed for the first time in almost three years when she formed part of a winning GB 4x400m relay team in Regensburg, Germany, last Sunday and having switched the hurdles for the 400m flat, now hopes to push on.
“I was just really happy to be back competing after such a long time,” she told AW.
