BRITISH ATHLETICS has announced the 31 stars of tomorrow selected for the 2016-17 Futures programme.
The group is down from 34 supported last year and sees race walker Callum Wilkinson, gold medallist at the World Junior Championships, retain his place and European Youth Championship gold medallists Jake Heyward and George Mills added to the programme for the first time.
Talented 18-year-old sprinter Imani Lansiquot, fourth at the World Juniors over the 100m, has also been included as part of the programme for 2016-17, along with training partner Reece Prescod – both of whom enjoyed standout years on the track. World junior 200m finalist Cameron Tindle has also been named.
European under-23 cross-country champion Jonny Davies has also been brought into the fold after competing at a senior championships for the first time at the European Championships in Amsterdam earlier in the summer.
