MAJOR FUNDING CHANGES
OLYMPIC
NUMERICALLY the Olympic World Class Performance Programme (WCPP) has seen its numbers of athletes streamlined.
Of the 15 athletes considered as realistic medal potential for 2017 – fewer than the 21 selected last year – hurdler Cindy Ofili is the only new addition. Dai Greene, Andrew Osagie (above), William Sharman and Laura Weightman were all taken off podium funding, Jessica Ennis-Hill has retired, Andy Pozzi has been moved to the podium potential level and Christine Ohuruogu is now funded as a relay runner.
