BIRMINGHAM, the home of athletics in Great Britain, has opened its “Parade of Champions” to celebrate some of the greats of the sport to have competed in the city.
BRITISH ATHLETICS
Kelly Sotherton (below, centre), 2004 Olympic bronze medallist and 2006 Commonwealth champion in the heptathlon, was the first athlete to be honoured with her own signature footprint and career achievements immortalised in a pavement plaque at the Alexander Stadium.
