FROM one legend of British athletics to another, Dame Kelly Holmes has paid tribute to the “massive, massive success” of Jessica Ennis-Hill’s career.
Holmes said to AW: “She’s been hugely successful in her career. She had an amazing comeback from having a child, staying in the sport at such a high level in the four years between London and Rio still getting silver. People need to look at that as a massive, massive success.”
With the likes of Holmes and Ennis-Hill, athletics in Britain has been fortunate in recent years to have iconic female role medals, and the double Olympic champion said the importance of their success is huge for woman in society.
