With a part in the high-school gay romcom Love, Simon, Clark Moore’s star is rising. He talks to Attitude about the role, his own experience of school and diversity in Hollywood

THE HIGH-SCHOOL ROMCOM WITH A DIFFERENCE , Love, Simon, hits cinemas in early April. Directed by Greg Berlanti and adapted from Becky Albertalli’s best-selling YA novel Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda, the most interesting thing about it is it’s a gay romcom. Cast as out-and-proud Ethan — a part especially created for the movie that works as a counterpoint to Simon’s more “masc” version of homosexuality — is Clark Moore. Born in Atlanta, he’s a relative newcomer to the screen, having appeared in just a handful of shows. We caught up with him in Los Angeles, which he now calls home.
