Last year, Vienna achieved something pretty incredible. After seven years of Melbourne sitting pretty at the top of the Economist Intelligence Unit’s Global Liveability Ranking, the Austrian capital — which had finished second for a number of years — came along and snatched the crown. Even more impressive is the fact that it’s the first European city to hold the coveted title; from the UK, only Manchester (35th) and London (48th) were in the in the top 50.
