BANISH THE BLUES: The Maldives prove that size isn’t everything
Maybe it’s my pessimistic streak that warns me to temper my expectations ahead of a trip to the Maldives. We’ve all seen the impossibly perfect pictures on Instagram and in travel magazines: aerial photographs of deep blue sea dotted with turquoise-ringed, palm-tree fringed islands, some with no signs of human interference, others with luxury resorts and villas on stilts creeping out into the Indian Ocean.
