A warm welcome to Issue 9 of Air-Style Magazine

We have another packed issue for you, with an amazing selection of content – something for everyone!
Our cover vehicle this month is Andy Axnix’s Standard model ’49 Beetle that has many a tale to tell. Read all about this fascinating classic.
We are very lucky at Air-Style to have some of the most respected, experienced specialist VW journalists writing for us. Our resident Bus aficionado, David Eccles, never disappoints, and this issue takes a look at how the Transporter was adopted by many of the emergency services; while Richard Copping’s latest instalment of Brochure Line takes us back to 1951, looking in detail at the early VW marketing from Bernd Reuters.
Pete Elmer from Norfolk in the UK shows us around his ’71 Trekker; and check out the husband-and-wife team and their ’56 Drag Oval. Talking of great partnerships, there are few better than a VW Split Screen with a matching Eriba Puck in tow – Rolf Berger from Switzerland is the proud owner of just such a combo, as you’ll see in this issue.

If that doesn’t have you grinning like a Cheshire cat, take a look at the ’75 Puma GTE owned by 58-year-old Guy Verschatse from Belgium; and if you’re a fan of detail, then take a look at Rose, the pink ’67 Beetle.

For many of us, our air-cooled pride and joy really is a member of the family, and Danni Aitken’s Buggy is no exception - read her story. All this plus much more, including the latest update on the Air-Style Baja build, await you in the pages ahead.

Like many great origin stories - the idea of Air-Style VW Magazine was conceived in a pub. Four like-minded friends knew that they weren't alone in their love for all things Volkswagen. They felt there was a gap in the market for the many that shared their passion, and believed that they could provide a service that speaks to the people in love with the cars, vans, music and lifestyle that makes the VW fandom so unique. Throughout the various pub meetings that followed, the premise grew from a concept into a fully functioning business plan. Their mission was simple… to provide VW enthusiasts with a dedicated publication in which they can learn more about their beloved brand, and share their experiences with other VW devotees.

Fast forward to today, and Air-Style VW Magazine has surpassed expectations. Proud to pair their own passion with fellow VW enthusiasts - Air-Style VW’s success has stemmed from the creators being genuine fans of the brand. Each issue is packed with a combination of car based content and real life stories that educate, inform, and inspire.
