PURSE PACKERS

EVERYDAY ESSENTIALS FOR HER HANDBAG

Anita Jankovic / Unsplash.com

The ritual of an everyday carry dump where friends empty out their pockets and show off their various everyday carry items- knives, techy card/money clips, nano-flashlights and tactical pens-is a tradition that is as old as pockets and typically involves a healthy round of one-upmanship.

But the esteemed ceremony rarely takes place among a group of women. Whomever created the social norms or societal constructs that has confined this ritual to a man-only parade of show-and-tell has never seen the inside of a well-heeled woman’s purse. Even the smallest clutch is a cavernous enclave of everyday useful gadgets and implements geared to handle the morass of life’s struggles. From the everyday annoyances like ripping her skirt to mom issues, such as wiping a kid’s nose or having a piece of candy, the purse provides.

Need a tissue? She’s got it. Need an aspirin? No problem. Hankering for a piece of gum? Sure thing. Got a need for a Glock 19 with a Trueglo Tritium TFX Pro and an orange outlined front sight? She might have to dig a bit, but it’s in there.

Today, these miniature suitcases (hence the term “hand-bag”) have sturdy handles, durable materials, internal pockets, pouches, zippered compartments and concealed sections able to organize a plentitude of stuff.

If done right, she’s carrying a tactical arsenal of equipment and gear, ready to defend herself from the harshness of reality while looking fabulous doing so. Never question the purse.

CANNAE OPTIO SLING BAG

HIDDEN FEATURES AND ROOM FOR ALL YOU NEED

A sling bag such as this brings not only extra capacity, but enhanced security over a handbag because it’s not as susceptible to a snatch and grab.

Sometimes the best method to keep your personal property safe is to forego the traditional and embrace the unexpected. The woman’s purse is a ubiquitous feature on the streets, and every hood, pickpocket and thief knows exactly what’s in them: money and credit cards. It’s an easy snatch and grab situation. Instead, consider an overthe- shoulder sling to replace the traditional handbag. A sling can be worn in a variety of ways, from on the shoulder like a regular purse, to cross-chest for added security. Not only can the bag be in the back, but also across the front.
