A dramatic tipped-in illustration of the Le Mans 24-hour race of June 1924 from a 32pp brochure issued by the makers of the car in the foreground and that year’s race winner, The Three-litre Bentley.
In a gilt tooled brown cover and including other sepia-tinted illustrations of available body styles, together with prices, specifications, notes on other competition wins, and so on, it sold for £920.
The general sale at Dominic Winter was followed on May 11 by one of motoring literature, automobilia and historic bicycles and accessories – a 620-lot auction held in conjunction with Transport Collector Auctions.
