Hugh Smith – an appreciation

Hugh Smith.

In my early years at The Ileach, in days long before email, I had the monthly task of typing Hugh Smith’s regular contribution to the paper entitled Criomagan which, I’m reliably informed, is Gaelic for ‘Bits and pieces’.

These frequent missives were sent from the depths of Glasgow, detailing happenstances relevant to the substantial Glasgow-Islay community.
