THE COMPANY managing the A83 trunk road says it will investigate drainage at a notorious flooding black-spot between Tarbert and Ardrishaig.
Water gathers on the road at Erines, four miles north of Tarbert, during periods of rainfall – primarily coming from the hillside above the road. The flood-prone stretch is close to a blind bend where the road narrows, and is considered to by local people to be a potential danger to motorists as vehicles are forced across to the opposite lane to avoid the pool of water.
A spokesperson for trunk road management company BEAR Scotland said: ‘We are aware of concerns regarding flooding on this section of the A83, and we plan to carry out drainage investigations with a view to determining what a long-term solution would be. In the meantime, our teams will continue to monitor the location and carry out works as required to alleviate any excess water.’
