Flush shoot ends winter season

SHOOTING with a difference was the order of the day at Tarbert Gun Club.

Members gathered last Sunday, March 5, for the final shoot of the winter league. In a change of format, this was a flush shoot, with teams taking aim at a flush of 60, 80 and 100 ‘birds’ from the traps.

A sharp eye – and a handy ‘clicker’ – was needed by the scorers for this event, but as the dust settled the winner was declared as Akram Khan’s team. Tarbert Gun Club will hold its annual dinner and prizegiving tomorrow (Saturday March 11) at the Islay Frigate in Tarbert when 14 trophies will be presented.
