TODAY, Friday November 11, is Armistice Day when we remember the signing of the ceasefire 98 years ago between the Allies and Germany to end hostilities in the First World War.

The armistice agreement took effect at 11am – the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month – 1918. With remembrance ceremonies also taking place this Sunday around the region, members of Lochgilp head and Tarbert Army Cadets paid their respects to the fallen at the Inveraray war memorial.
