THE SEA and all things marine are to be celebrated in a new festival in Glasgow next month.
The Festival of the Sea, created by the Clyde Fishermen’s Trust, will be held at the Briggait, Glasgow’s old fish market, and will showcase fresh and cooked seafood, arts and crafts. There will be live music, a licensed bar, whiskies and a photography exhibition by Ken Dundas and Michael Russell MSP.
Later it’s the premiere of the play Something Fishy by acclaimed playwright and artistic director Tony Cownie, which creates a glimpse into the life of West Coast fishermen. The play will be followed by a ceilidh featuring The Real Stramash. It all happens on Saturday September 16, starting at 10am.
