Shinty news and views . . .

THERE’S no change at the top of the Marine Harvest Premiership as Newtonmore, Oban Camanachd and Kinlochshiel all won following the shinty action on Saturday August 6.

Marine Harvest Premiership

Fort William 1

Oban Camanachd 5

Oban Camanachd returned from An Aird with both points after beating Fort William 5-1.

Fort William were missing a number of players and had to promote from their reserve team.

Oban Camanachd were without Connor Howe, who has moved to America to begin a two-year football scholarship. Defenders Garry Lord and Gary McKerracher were banned whilst another defender, Scott McKillop, and Daniel Cameron weren’t risked as both were just one booking away from missing the forth coming Camanachd Cup semi-final against Lochaber. Robert Alexander, Iain Mac-Millan and Evan MacLellan were called up from Lochside Rovers. Keeper Gavin Stobbart started despite nursing a toe injury.
