Ninety not out for long-serving councillor Donnie MacMillan

Family marks milestone birthday with Bridgend party

LOCHGILPHEAD’S one and only Councillor Donnie MacMillan has celebrated his 90th birthday – that’s what all the balloons were for at the council headquarters at Kilmory.

The big day was on Tuesday, but the party celebrations for Donnie were hosted by his nephew and wife, Danny and Moira Lister, at their Bridgend home on Sunday.

Donnie has served as a councillor for a total of 31 years and is Scotland’s longest-serving councillor.
