Norway holds key to Argyll’s fishing future

FISHING leaders are determined the voice of Argyll coastal communities will be heard as the UK faces life beyond the EU. And they point to Norway as an example of a nation which has fishermen at the heart of all decisions.

UK government environment secretary Michael Gove has said the UK would leave the London Convention, which allows vessels from six European countries to fish in UK inshore waters, ahead of leaving the EU Common Fisheries Policy.
