HIGHLAND Games season is almost here and juniors will have the chance to take part in plenty of track and field events.
At the Inveraray, Mull and Oban Highland Games an aggregate competition will be held as an incentive to youngsters between 11 and 16 to attend and compete at all three. Competitions at 90 metres, 600m, long jump, high jump and shot put will be held at each event and is sure to be a highlight of many people’s games day. Different cat egories for girls and boys will take place and competitors will also be divided by age. An overall winner for the three games is to be selected and awarded a trophy at the Oban games on August 25, with other prizes being awarded for different events and categories. Prize money is sure to provide an extra incentive to compete.
The adults won’t be left out with a full programme of senior sports events taking place at the games.
